The Dawn of War series has always reinvented itself with each entry. Dawn of War II eschewed the first game’s focus on amassing large armies in favor of micro-managing smaller groups, or sometimes individual units. It removed the original's base-building mechanics, and its maps were less of an open-ended sandbox, hewing closer to being an isometric action-RPG. Matthew Macfadyen, perhaps best known for his work on HBO's Succession, is in talks to join the cast of Deadpool 3 alongside Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Emma Corrin. Deadline was first to report.

Macfadyen's role has not been revealed, but the character was described as a "third wheel" to Deadpool and Wolverine. The film will be the first R-rated entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be produced by Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige.

Deadpool 3 is directed by Shawn Levy and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who previously worked on the first two Deadpool movies. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin wrote an earlier draft of the script. Disney has scheduled the film for release on November 8, 2024.
