The studio is behind Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei , two first-party PlayStation titles that have been critical and commercial hits . An Aftermath report claims 24 Sucker Punch staff have lost their jobs. The studio is estimated to have between 190 and 230 staff, depending on the source, meaning Sucker Punch has lost at least 10% of its employees. "After carefully observing the challenges in the market and reviewing the team needs for our next project, we've decided to make some staffing reductions," an email from studio leadership quoted by Aftermath read. With a Gran Turismo film adaptation hitting theaters on August 11, now is a great time to strap in and put the pedal to the metal in some of the most glorious cars to ever roll out of a factory.

In GameSpot's Gran Turismo 7 review, Alex Goy scored it 8/10. He said, "Gran Turismo 7 isn't a departure, but rather a newer, shinier GT game. Its physics model is accurate, and while the racing can be formulaic it's always a giggle. The attempt at humanity is a bit cringe, the lack of up-to-date cars seems like an open goal missed, and the game may not have changed drastically, but that's not the worst thing in the world. There are medals to claim, cars to collect, and people on the internet to embarrass around Goodwood, the 'Ring, or, well, anywhere really. PlayStation petrolheads are in for a good time."
