Speaking during a recent investor Q&A, Guillemot expressed his opinion that the PS5 console market could emulate PC gaming--which has been an overwhelmingly digital-only scene since the rise of Steam--and hardware costs could come down as a result. "What we saw on the PC is that it helped to grow the market," Guillemot said (via VGC ). "There's also some pressure for the future on the cost of machines, and being able to be only digital will help to have a more accessible machine, I would say. With a Gran Turismo film adaptation hitting theaters on August 11, now is a great time to strap in and put the pedal to the metal in some of the most glorious cars to ever roll out of a factory.

In GameSpot's Gran Turismo 7 review, Alex Goy scored it 8/10. He said, "Gran Turismo 7 isn't a departure, but rather a newer, shinier GT game. Its physics model is accurate, and while the racing can be formulaic it's always a giggle. The attempt at humanity is a bit cringe, the lack of up-to-date cars seems like an open goal missed, and the game may not have changed drastically, but that's not the worst thing in the world. There are medals to claim, cars to collect, and people on the internet to embarrass around Goodwood, the 'Ring, or, well, anywhere really. PlayStation petrolheads are in for a good time."
