Climbing a giant monster and taking it down like you’re a supernaturally powered David against a monstrous Goliath is just fun, solidified into a game mechanic, and the combat only heightens the experience. With the Dark Arisen expansion giving me another reason to return to Battahl and, well, another reason to ignore the Pawn trailing behind me as I walk over the trail of corpses I’ve left in my wake, I’m ready to become the Arisen once again. Fighting game fans have been eating well throughout 2023, and for fans of familial squabbles that can only be solved with a dip in a volcano, Tekken 8 is on the way. The next chapter in Bandai Namco's fighting game franchise is shaping up to be a stylish clash, one that is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and features new aggressive gameplay mechanics to help set it apart from previous entries.

First revealed during PlayStation's September 2022 State of Play, Tekken 8 does not yet have a release date. Since then, Bandai Namco has regularly dropped character trailers for the game and early builds of the game have been made available for press and at special events as work continues on the new Iron Fist sequel.
