Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy is also heavily referenced in the game, including a callback to the first film by Michael Caine, the actor who portrayed Alfred Pennyworth. In 2024, Caine shared a Tweet that quoted Alfred's line from Batman Begins: "Why do we fall, sir? So we can learn to pick ourselves up." However, Caine mistakenly typed "Batman Begin" as the name of his film, and inadvertently created a meme. Both the quote and the typo have been retained for Legacy of the Dark Knight in a line spoken by Alfred himself. We're just one week away from the theatrical release of TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, the first animated Turtles movie in almost 20 years. Fans were treated to an exclusive first look at this year's Comic-Con where at the panel, 20 minutes were shown. The footage explained their origin, their first meeting with April O'Neil (Ayo Edebiri), and how they met Superfly (Ice Cube).

Paramount has released a short clip with the Turtles meeting Superfly as he tells them it was his father Baxter Stockman (Giancarlo Esposito) who dumped the mysterious and powerful ooze down the sewer, creating both himself and the brothers. He even jokingly said they're kind of like cousins.

At the end of the clip, Superfly says the Turtles now have a "bunch" of cousins with some of their most famous rogues in their gallery in the background ready to be introduced. It had been theorized that Baxter Stockman was actually Superfly under an actual codename instead of just his Stockmanfly persona.
