Capcom has announced that the Resident Evil 2 remake, which launched in 2019, is now the best-selling game in the series. To date, the Resident Evil 2 remake has sold 12.6 million copies, coming out ahead of Resident Evil 7 ( which has sold 12.4 million copies).

The company recently released its financial results for the second quarter of 2023 and has updated its list of Platinum Titles, representing Capcom's best-selling games. Capcom also confirmed that the Resident Evil 4 remake, which launched earlier this year, has sold 4.9 million copies. In total, the Resident Evil series has sold over 146 million units worldwide.

Monster Hunter World still remains Cacpom's best-selling game at 19 million units. This title launched in 2018, while its Iceborne DLC released the following year. The company's second-best-selling game, Monster Hunter Rise, has reached over 13 million copies sold since its launch in 2021.
