With sprites giving everybody a bonus ability, and Overrides fundamentally changing the way the game works in the middle of matches, we've got kind of a large pile of gimmicks that show up in matches at random, if they show up at all. It's made for a disorienting and inconsistent experience that's difficult to strategize for, because there's no real status quo to get used to. It's a big mess, and it seems to be affecting player numbers in a big way, both for the core Battle Royale mode and Fortnite as a whole. The thing about battle royale as a genre is that it's already, by its nature, varied enough from match to match. As part of the Bandai Shokugan line, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Tomodachi dolls are pocket-sized collectibles that look and feel great. Each of the seven characters has flocked fur and unflocked details, which gives them a cathartic texture when you handle them. This also works quite well aesthetically, as each little figure looks like it was ripped straight from the game thanks to the fine details of these textures.

In this third-volume release, you'll get Blathers, Celeste, Aurora, Goldie, Beau, Apollo, and Judy. The first two collections are also available, so if you're looking to go all in on your love for Animal Crossing, you can add other characters like Tom Nook, Isabelle, and KK Slider to your growing village.
