According to a report from Kotaku, one of the most highly anticipated game releases ever, Grand Theft Auto VI, could potentially slip to 2026. The site reported that Rockstar Games is currently planning to release the game in "early 2025." However, the site reported that it's "becoming more and more likely" that the game could slip to late 2025 or 2026.

Kotaku said this is happening "as production reportedly falls behind."

The site further reported that Rockstar management is feeling "nervous" about GTA VI hitting its official date in 2025, and this is part of the reason why the company is mandating staffers return to the office five days per week to finish the game. Rockstar has also said bringing people back to the office should help improve productivity and mitigate leaks. Anonymous Rockstar staffers told Aftermath that security concerns are significant. "We need to do as much as we can to make it harder for attackers to get into our systems," a staffer said.
