By moving the action to a first-person view, Valor Mortis affords itself novelty, which works well with snappy and satisfying combat that rewards deft parries and patience in equal measure. Each book in the Destiny Grimoire Anthology focuses on different topics and stories from the Destiny universe. One covers the full backstory of the Hive, another deals with the Cabal, and another the Fallen. The latest anthology is full of stories about Ghosts, the little robot pals that follow Destiny 2 players around and give them superpowers. If you're a Destiny fan, all the anthology books are worth checking out, and it's not a stretch to say that there's a lot of really great writing attached to the game--even if it's sometimes a little hidden and hard to find.
