Much-Loved Disney World Ride Reopens And Promptly Shuts Down After Mishap, Then Reopens https://ift.tt/vUeaRK5 One of Walt Disney World's most popular attractions, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, reopened on May 3 after about 1.5 years of downtime for refurbishments and upgrades. The reopening did not go entirely to plan, as cast members had to use a fire extinguisher on the Magic Kingdom ride to deal with an issue, prompting an evacuation of guests and the ride to close temporarily as the issue was addressed. A parkgoer posted a photo on social media showing a cast member using a fire extinguisher on the ride's tracks, with a white substance covering the area. Whether or not there was an actual fire is unknown. The incident happened around 5:45 PM and the ride later reopened. No injuries were reported, and Disney has not commented on the mishap.
