There are seven cursed objects available in the game that can only be used inside the investigation area, with their perks ranging from resurrecting fallen players to helping you eliminate evidence. However, which of these supernatural items spawns, and the number of them that spawn, changes from contract to contract regardless of the difficulty level you’re playing (outside of custom), though each has a distinct spawn location for every map. Using these items is optional, but they can be particularly useful when you're stuck identifying a ghost, or at higher difficulty levels with less evidence. During San Diego Comic-Con, a trailer for The Penguin was released. The upcoming spin-off of The Batman will be a limited series branded as an HBO Original. The Batman's Colin Farrell is reprising his role as Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot, and where others see disaster, the Penguin sees an opportunity to take control of the criminal underworld. But as shown in the new trailer, Oz has a significant adversary in his way.

Since Carmine Falcone was killed in The Batman, his daughter--Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti)--believes that she's the natural choice to take over the crime family. That puts her at odds against Oz, and for the first time, we see that Sophia was apparently institutionalized in Arkham Asylum. It also suggests that she may be a vigilante killer known as the Hangman.

The trailer also establishes two of Oz's key relationships. He's taking care of his mentally ill mother, Francis Cobb (Deirdre O'Connell), while also mentoring his new driver, Victor Aguilar (Rhenzy Feliz). Oz even seems to genuinely like Victor, which will put him in danger. Victor seems especially afraid of what Sophia could do to them.
