New PS5 Update Is Out Now, Makes Reading Easier https://ift.tt/cRAbqGT A new firmware update for PS5 consoles has been released, and as usual, it's not much to write home about. PS5 update version: 26.04-13.60.00 once again keeps things simple, offering a very incremental enhancement to the Sony-produced hardware. "We've improved the messages and usability on some screens," the extremely brief update notes read. The last major PS5 update was focused on the PS5 Pro, as it introduced an upgraded version of PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) for owners of the beefier machine. Beyond that, we've seen an improved Friends Activity widget, the option to check your PS5 console serial number, and a power saver mode added in older firmware updates alongside the usual rounds of stability improvements. The rollout for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's new Christmas action movie, Red One, hasn't exactly been smooth. Earlier this year, there were reports that Johnson caused problems by not showing up on set as scheduled and by behaving obnoxiously. But now that the film is just under two months away, all of that bad press can fall by the wayside because the new trailer for Red One is so over-the-top ridiculous that it just might work.

The trailer largely focuses on former Captain America actor Chris Evans, who portrays bounty hunter Jack O'Malley. Jack is so good at his job that the North Pole's security team, as led by Callum Drift (Johnson) and Zoe (Lucy Liu), has forcibly recruited him to help them find Santa Claus (J. K. Simmons).

While the trailer doesn't definitively reveal who was the mastermind behind Santa's abduction, it does feature some bizarre winter-themed villains including evil snowmen. There's also a talking polar bear on Team North Pole, and Callum reveals that all toy stores are secretly linked by Christmas magic... or something along those lines.
