How to unlock the Spirit of Advocacy

The Spirit of Advocacy unlocks automatically after you defeat the third main boss, the Revenant of Adversity. That happens roughly four or five hours into the game, and it's impossible to miss. If you're struggling with major fights before then, make sure you're using one of Khazan's best weapons, and brush up on how combat in Khazan is different from Dark Souls.
