Kirby Air Riders Brings Sakurai's Smash Experience To A Switch 2 Racing Game

Kirby Air Riders Brings Sakurai's Smash Experience To A Switch 2 Racing Game https://ift.tt/RiMCDFs When I watch a great pro match of a fighting game like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, my reaction is equal parts awe and bafflement. The sheer speed and hyper-kinetic action flies by so quickly that I can only make sense of a percentage of what I'm seeing, and the people who have mastered the chaos must be a different species. Kirby Air Riders is like that: a bubblegum colorful confection of speed, agility, and action that feels overwhelming, but still fun to play. My hands-on experience at Gamescom started with some tutorials showing the ropes of handling your ride. The ride accelerates automatically, which may seem like it suggests simplicity, but there's still a lot of finesse and fine control to handling your ride. Nailing a drift around a corner takes precise timing, and when you take a jump you can get a speed boost with a clean landing--which means...

Meet Call of Duty Black Ops 7's Star-Studded Cast

Meet Call of Duty Black Ops 7's Star-Studded Cast https://ift.tt/JT76rju

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 just enjoyed a beefy reveal at Gamescom Opening Night Live, where fans of the long-running series were able to see some of the returning and all-new features coming to the upcoming shooter. Alongside a mind-bending campaign, which will feature full four-player co-op for the first time since Black Ops 3, and returning staples like Zombies, this latest game also appears to be pulling out all the stops for its cast, which is currently packed with celebrity turns. Here's everyone we can make out from Black Ops 7's star-studded cast so far:

Milo Ventimiglia as David Mason

David is a returning character from the Black Ops franchise, having starred as the protagonist of Black Ops 2 and appearing in the battle royale mode of the multiplayer-centric installment Black Ops 4. He's gotten a glow-up since then though, and is now portrayed by Milo Ventimiglia, who audiences might know from his time as Peter Petrelli in Heroes, Jack Pearson in This Is Us, or Jess Mariano in Gilmore Girls(!!).

David's back in Black Ops 7 and once again appears to be in pursuit of Raul Menendez, Black Ops 2's villain. This time, he has a newly assembled JSOC team, which also includes some familiar faces from the series' past.

Michael Rooker as Mike Harper

Michael Rooker has actually made a few different appearances throughout the Call of Duty series, namely as Mike Harper in Black Ops 2's campaign and as himself in the star-studded Black Ops Zombies map, Call of the Dead, with other horror and film icons such as Robert Englund and George Romero. In Black Ops 7, he is returning as the former, reuniting Harper with David Mason in the renewed fight against Raul Menendez.

According to Black Ops 7's developers, he will be returning with his "tough-as-nails attitude and signature humor." It sounds like Harper will function much like a confidante to David, as well as a bit of comic relief for players and the in-game squad.

John Eric Bentley as Eric Samuels

John Eric Bentley has most recently made waves in games with his incredible and moving portrayal of Barrett Wallace, the gun-toting heart of AVALANCHE in Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth. In Black Ops 7, he will be starring as another member of JSOC named Eric Samuels. Samuels also returns from Black Ops 2, where he was last seen protecting the president. Soon after the events of that game, Samuels evidently leaves the Secret Service, and eventually joins up with JSOC a handful of years prior to Black Ops 7's start in 2035.

Frankie Adams as 50/50

The last core member of JSOC is an entirely new one and her name is 50/50. Portrayed by Frankie Adams, who starred in The Expanse as Roberta Draper and was cast in the upcoming live-action adaptation of Moana, 50/50 suffers from a degenerative disease that has evidently cost her some of her limbs. However, she replaces these with bionic implants readily available by 2035, and according to the game's developers, they pack a hell of a punch.

Kiernan Shipka as Emma Kagan

Kiernan Shipka, who has starred in Twisters, Mad Men, and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, is set to appear as Emma Kagan, the CEO of a criminal organization known as the Guild, which returns from 2024's Black Ops 6. Kagan has seemingly dubbed herself "humanity's last line of defense" against the threats facing the cast of Black Ops 7, but her ideals seem to place her and the Guild at odds with the core team and David Mason in particular. If she doesn't make a completely villainous turn, it seems she will be a foil to the team, at least.
