All Shamisen Songs In Ghost Of Yotei https://ift.tt/AGBpi5z

Is your curiosity piqued by Shamisen Songs in Ghost of Yotei? These are tunes that you can play via the instrument that Atsu carries around with her at all times. Not only do they immerse you as you explore the tranquil countryside, but they might even lead you to secrets.

Where to find all Shamisen Songs in Ghost of Yotei

Before we list down the Shamisen Songs in the game world, let's talk about related mechanics:

  • When learning a Shamisen Song, you have to slowly swipe on the DualSense controller's touchpad until you hold the right note. The instrument will have a bright glow if you do the process correctly.
  • To play the Shamisen itself, you need to swipe left on the touchpad. You may also select a particular tune.
  • Most Shamisen Songs have a unique effect. While the melody is playing, the Gust Wind that blows denotes the locations of specific points-of-interest and landmarks. These include character upgrades and collectibles.

Yotei Grasslands Shamisen Song locations

The map above shows the locations of the Ghost of Yotei Shamisen Songs in the first region. Note that two of these, the Song of Shrines and Song of the Wolf, aren't discovered in fixed areas. There's also another, the Song of Soma, which is more of a bonus entry.

Atsu's Song

  • Location: This is the first Shamisen Song that you acquire in the campaign. It's actually part of the mechanics tutorial in Atsu's Home.
  • Effect: N/A

Song of Spirit

  • Location: Complete the Master of the Shamisen side quest. Here's a quick summary:
    • Head to the Traditional Garden in the northwestern part of Yotei Grasslands. You'll eventually learn that it's Master Hejiro's Garden.
    • Look for golden leaves that flutter around and relive the past by holding the touchpad.
    • You then need to do a couple of tasks to help out Yone, Atsu's mother:
      • Cut down the overgrown bamboo stalks.
      • Pick up the jar and place it in the water.
      • Plant the sapling in the mound.
    • Back in the present, talk to Master Hejiro to learn the melody.
  • Effect: Discover Bamboo Strikes that increase your maximum spirit.

Song of Soma (bonus)

  • Location: Think of this Ghost of Yotei Shamisen Song as a bonus of sorts. For starters, you need to complete all bounties at the Old Inn. This unlocks the bounty for Soma the Condemned.
  • Effect: Approach the cave entrance and play this tune to unlock the door. Later, you'll fight this fella and the two of you will play the song. Soma also drops the unique Bounty Master Armor.

Song of Shrines

  • Location: Random - When you set up your camp in the wilderness, there's a chance that a settler shows up randomly. He'll then commend you for your musical skills. When you play the new tune, you'll unlock the Shamisen Song.
  • Effect: Discover shrines that reward charms/accessories.

Song of the Wolf

  • Location: Variable - You unlock this melody upon completing at least four Wolf Den activities.
  • Effect: The Gust Wind directs you to the location of other Wolf Dens.
