Vivian from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door proved equally impactful thanks to a personal arc that reinforced the woman she wanted to be and always had been. Though neither explicitly stated their queer narrative intentions, my growing mind subconsciously read between the lines, regardless: Both offered quiet forms of queer representation that, decades later, still rings true. The same compelling allure can be attributed to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time...

If this new game is anywhere as good as the first, we're in for a treat. The promise of new jobs, exciting boss fights, and powerful gear will inspire you to poke around every corner, and there are no shortage of discoveries to strive for. And all the while, you're treated to one of the most interesting and effective re-imaginings of a retro aesthetic around." Release date Octopath Traveler II is scheduled to launch on February 24. Like the original Octopath Traveler, it will launch for all regions on day one, meaning it won't be released in Japan first and then other regions later like Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.
