Clancy Brown has been cast in a recurring role for The Penguin, an upcoming spinoff series from HBO Max's The Batman. Variety was first to report.

Brown will play Salvatore Maroni, a notorious crime boss in Gotham City. Maroni's character was referenced several times in The Batman, and his arrest allowed for Carmine Falcone's organization to rise. The role of Maroni has been previously portrayed on screen by David Zayas and Eric Roberts.
