With Gears of War: E-Day dropping in October, the studio is aiming to bring the franchise back with a bang after a lengthy hiatus. We recently went hands-on with the game--you can check out the video preview below--and our immediate takeaway was that The Coalition hasn't skipped a beat as it still knows how to put together a Gears game that looks and feels great. Set during the cataclysmic events of Emergence Day, Gears of War: E-Day tells the story of humanity's first encounter with the Locust. Outgunned and caught by surprise, it's up to Marcus Fenix to rally the survivors and turn the tide of the conflict. DIY crafting via the Ultrahand

The Ultrahand is a tool that you'll receive early in the campaign. Basically, it has the main function where you'll be able to create various objects and vehicles, whether for combat, exploration, or puzzle-solving purposes. Most are unlocked as you're clearing the Shrines in the Great Sky Island starting area. These can be accessed by pressing and holding the L button.

Ultrahand Grab and Attach

This is the basic function of the Ultrahand. You can grab, rotate, lift, align, and attach objects, essentially creating something nifty, useful, or downright mind-boggling. You can learn more in our Ultrahand tips guide.
