However, just a few days after launch, some players have begun to spot assets suspected to have been created with generative AI. As a result, popular streamers and even a voice actor that worked on the game have started refusing to work with Neverness to Everness and its developer, Hotta Studio. In one video , many are pointing out "artifacting"--unintended distortions that occur as a result of using AI to generate an asset. Payday 3 has had a rocky start since it released on September 18, but the long-awaited first patch has finally arrived. Patch 1.0.1 dropped today with a 2GB update across all platforms, fixing a lot of the game's technical issues.

The patch is packed full of fixes for minor issues that have nevertheless plagued players, which you can find listed in full below. One of the major fixes players will be happy about is that all exclusive rewards including pre-order bonuses and platform-specific items have now been allocated correctly. The one exception is the weapon charm and death wish reward from a Payday 2 cross promotion, which Starbreeze Studios says it hopes to fix by the next patch.

The developers behind Payday 3 have apologized multiple times for the game's messy launch, and the patch is a first step towards fixing its issues--and its reputation with players. While the game may yet realize its potential through future patches and updates, at the time of writing Steam charts show Payday 2 still has far more players than the more recent release, with players apparently preferring to stick with the decade-old game.
