While the majority of the live-action movies turned a decent profit off of a relatively small budget, Cregger's take on the IP is currently projected to have the best opening weekend by a comfortable margin. That's according to the official publication of the National Association of Theater Owners, Box Office Pro. The survival-horror movie is predicted to bring in between $40 and $50 million in its North American opening weekend, which would be almost double Resident Evil: Afterlife's $26.6 million weekend from way back in 2010. The Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon is coming this June, Warner Bros. Discovery boss J.B. Perrette confirmed during a Morgan Stanley briefing this week.

This is not a surprise. After all, HBO's Casey Bloys previously said the show should arrive in "early summer." June certainly matches up with that.

Filming on Season 2 continued through the Hollywood strikes because the scripts were finished prior to shooting and the actors were part of different guilds that were not striking. You can check out the first trailer above.
