Things are still very messy, but Epic's moves in that direction--which frequently seem to involve trying random things just to see what happens--may have finally borne fruit. Back at the end of 2023, Fortnite attempted to usher in its metaverse in earnest by launching Fortnite Festival, Rocket Racing, and Lego Fortnite all at once. It didn't quite work, because all three were half-baked and missing key features. The only way to play Racing was in Ranked, Festival lacked instrument support and still doesn't have a practice mode, and Lego Fortnite had the feel of a generic early-access survival game wearing Lego clothing. Two years later, we've got a much prettier picture, but not because Epic went all in on those modes...

Spin Master's recently released 4D Build Pokemon model kits are on sale for a limited time at Amazon. All four Kanto region starter Pokemon from Generation 1 are discounted to $15 each. The 3D models of Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur launched in September for $22 each. These are Amazon Lightning Deals with limited quantities, so you gotta be fast to catch 'em all.

The 4D Build catalog includes licensed models based on a wide array of major entertainment franchises, including Star Wars, Marvel, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter. Some 4D Build puzzles are constructed out of cardstock, but the Pokemon models use higher-end EPS foam pieces that connect together like puzzle pieces. You don't need scissors, glue, or anything other than your hands, the punch-out foam sheets in the box, and the instruction booklet.
