Things are still very messy, but Epic's moves in that direction--which frequently seem to involve trying random things just to see what happens--may have finally borne fruit. Back at the end of 2023, Fortnite attempted to usher in its metaverse in earnest by launching Fortnite Festival, Rocket Racing, and Lego Fortnite all at once. It didn't quite work, because all three were half-baked and missing key features. The only way to play Racing was in Ranked, Festival lacked instrument support and still doesn't have a practice mode, and Lego Fortnite had the feel of a generic early-access survival game wearing Lego clothing. Two years later, we've got a much prettier picture, but not because Epic went all in on those modes...

October might be the month of Halloween, but let's be honest, November is much scarier. Thanks to Amazon's early Black Friday video game deals, you can indulge in the eerie long winter nights with a discount on the Poppy Playtime Triple Pack for Nintendo Switch, which is on sale for $30 (was $40). That's the lowest price we've seen for the episodic horror game collection in the last 30 days. While the collection is also available on PS5 and Xbox Series X, the discount only applies to the Switch version.

Poppy Playtime is an episodic survival horror game that kicked off in 2021 with its first chapter, A Tight Squeeze. Since then, four chapters have been released, and this collection makes it easy to catch up on the first three, which should only take roughly six hours to complete a single playthrough. A fourth episode, Chapter 4: Safe Haven is also available, but is not included in this collection, and Chapter 5 is slated to release in 2026.
