With sprites giving everybody a bonus ability, and Overrides fundamentally changing the way the game works in the middle of matches, we've got kind of a large pile of gimmicks that show up in matches at random, if they show up at all. It's made for a disorienting and inconsistent experience that's difficult to strategize for, because there's no real status quo to get used to. It's a big mess, and it seems to be affecting player numbers in a big way, both for the core Battle Royale mode and Fortnite as a whole. The thing about battle royale as a genre is that it's already, by its nature, varied enough from match to match. The third entry in Capcom's turn-based RPG spinoff of the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, launches on Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 13, 2026. Preordering any version of Monster Hunter 3: Twisted Reflection gets you Skyscale Queen Layered Armor for the playable character Eleanor. The armor is based on the iconic Rathalos set that fans of the mainline Monster Hunter games will recognize. Layered armor is purely cosmetic--it doesn't confer any stat bonuses or abilities, unlike other gear in the game, but it will at least let you represent one of the series' flagship creatures regardless of the other gear you're wearing.
