Battlefield 6's big new Season 2 update is out now, but it was originally expected to release sooner. The Season 2 delay "broke the pace" of the game's smooth and successful launch in October 2025, producer Phil Girette said in an interview.

"We launched Battlefield 6 and we were super happy to have had a smooth launch for once. And then going into Season 1, I think the key thing there because, [...] there were a lot of people spending a lot of time playing it, what kind of broke that pace is the extension we did of Season 1," Girette told TechRadar.

However, delaying Season 2 was necessary, he said, because the content simply was not ready for primetime and needed "further polish."
