Putting Control Resonant Under A Microscope Is Rewarding In An Unexpected Way https://ift.tt/BWydxQs Over many years, I've written tens of thousands of words covering the Remedy Connected Universe, the Finnish studio's world tying the Alan Wake and Control series together. This is a team that loves rewarding players who notice the smaller details and go off the golden path in search of morsels of understanding. Connecting dots is often much of the fun in a Remedy game.  To my surprise, that side of the developer wasn't on display much in Control Resonant. There are definitely a few nods, and one chain of side quests in particular seems to have greater implications for the studio's future connected-universe games, but overall, I was taken aback by how disinterested Resonant was in tying itself to Remedy's bigger picture. However, it was by looking for those hidden details that I discovered something else I ended up loving about the sequel in a different way. ...

With 5 million sales in the bag, Capcom has confirmed that it plans to expand on Resident Evil Requiem with new content and a story expansion. Game director Koshi Nakanishi broke the news, confirming that a photo mode will be added to the game in the near future, and in May, a minigame will also appear in Resident Evil Requiem.

Like previous mainline Resident Evil games, Resident Evil Requiem will also receive a story expansion in the future. Nakanishi teased that the expansion will "delve deeper into the world of Requiem," and it's now in development.

The developer also made a few jokes related to ongoing Resident Evil Requiem discourse, including a cheeky tease of a game focused on revealing who the co-protagonist Leon S. Kennedy's wife is and a Resident Evil Match-Three puzzle game. Capcom is also working on improving Resident Evil Requiem on PC, and a recent patch introduced a number of fixes to deal with several performance issues.
