Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3: Leaks, Skins, And Everything We Know So Far

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3: Leaks, Skins, And Everything We Know So Far https://ift.tt/CTX3vJY

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 is just days away now, and the hype cycle is underway. The surprising lack of leaks about what’s coming up meant we had to wait for Epic Games to reveal things on its own timetable. Fortunately, we're no longer waiting, because Epic has already revealed some big things--for example, the entire battle pass lineup. Let’s dive into what we know so far about Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3: Runners.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 start date

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 will begin on Saturday, June 6, likely very early in the morning, US time. We never know the exact timing with these things, but Fortnite will go offline for maintenance on Friday night after the season-ending live event, and then Season 3 will launch several hours later.

Season finale event

“Did you say there’s a live event ahead?” Indeed, I did! The event, dubbed Shattered, will involve one last battle between the Ice King and Dwayne “The Foundation” Johnson, and it’s all going down on Friday, June 6, at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET. Apparently, your experience will be customized based on whether you picked Team Foundation or Team Ice King, which sounds pretty cool. Word is, anyone who attends the event will be granted a Dark Voyager-themed pickaxe, and anyone who attends with a friend will receive a free Dark Voyager sidekick.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 battle pass and gameplay changes

The only thing Epic has revealed so far about the gameplay changes is the return of sprites, which were little spirit guys who could grant boons based on their nature back in the first half of Chapter 6. It looks like there will be many more types of sprites this time, but we'll have to wait to find out what they do.

Epic has been more forthcoming about the battle pass, which it revealed in full on Sunday afternoon--see above. The main battle pass collab appears to be a new cel-shaded version of John Wick, and in the battle pass key art we can also clearly see a sprite based on TheBurntPeanut--whether that's a sidekick on the battle pass or just a gameplay thing, we have no idea. It appears that John Wick's dog will be a sidekick on the pass, or at least we hope so.

Beyond that, the pass includes new remixes of existing Fortnite characters PJ and Dr. Sloane. Sloane's return is a big deal for Fortnite lore enthusiasts, since she'd seemingly been written out of history a little bit back in Chapter 4. The pass also includes a sprite in a mech suit, an anthropomorphic rubber ducky man, and a woman in a bikini.

That last one is going to cause a bit of a stir, because she's easily the most scantily-clad Fortnite skin ever. For years, female Fortnite skins were pretty conservative in the amount of skin they would be able to show, but clearly Epic has relaxed those standards a bit since launching the Kim Kardashian collab in December.

We’ll update this post as we learn more.
