If you've not yet jumped on the hype train, developer Pocketpair announced that there will be no price increase between early access and the full release.

Environment and New Areas

Sunreach is a new series of islands.

Sunreach

Above Palpagos a new series of islands have appeared that are being held in the sky by Paldium--the game's element that you might recognize as being used in the crafting of Pal Spheres. Sunreach has new Pals, new tower bosses, and new ores.

The World Tree holds many of Palworld's secrets.

The World Tree

While you're fighting over the ownership of the towers, you might be wondering why the fight exists in the first place. The World Tree is vital to Palworld's story, and you can finally visit it and take on the challenges it presents.

Ancient Ruins

Ancient Ruins are present across all of Palpagos. You can earn rewards, including schematics, for completing their minigames and exploration challenges.

Watchtowers

There are multiple watchtowers scattered around the map. Using one uncovers the surrounding map area--think Assassin's Creed--and also gives a new fast travel point.

Small Islands

There are seven small islands with three biomes--volcano, desert, and ruins. Each island has unique Pals, so they're worth exploring.

New Settlements

Small settlements have been added at the Bamboo Groves, Snowy Mountains, Sakurajima, and Sunreach. Each settlement has new NPCs, missions, and more.

Enemy Bases

New enemy bases have been added at sea, so when you're exploring a little further out, you have combat challenges to complete.

Wildlife Sanctuaries were formerly called small islands.

Wildlife Sanctuary

Previously known as small islands, the Wildlife Sanctuaries have been reworked completely. They're now protected conservation areas intended to preserve the environment. There are three sanctuaries, and each has its own environment and unique scenery, unique Pals, rare materials, and powerful bosses. Defense drones are in operation, so you can opt for the stealthy approach or just go in all guns blazing.

Rebalanced Pal Habitats

The placement and spawn levels of Pals throughout Palpagos have been reworked. Pals will spawn in places that feel more suited to their typing.

Increased Player Level Cap

The player level cap has been increased from 65 to 80. There are new technologies per level.

Minor Improvements

A whole host of other minor improvements have been made to the world. Lifmunk Effigies are now known as Pal Effigies, and a new animation has been added when you collect them.

Treasure chests, dungeon rewards, and item drops have been rebalanced. Dungeon layouts and lighting have also been improved. If a random dungeon is open, its entrance is shown more clearly, and there are 15 more of them throughout Feybreak. You can now earn exploration experience for clearing some dungeons and enemy bases. The numbers and positions of enemy bases on land have also been adjusted.

Towers you have cleared now show as a different color on the map. Predator Pals are no longer at fixed locations, but spawn at a low rate across the entire map. The Free Pal Alliance tower has been moved to Crescent Moon Shore. The Great Eagle Statue has been removed from the top of tower bosses to improve visibility on the map.

Junk and salvage targets are easier to find. Bounty target sizes now match regular NPCs. The description text for respawn points has been changed to suit the environment. Renamed Forgotten Island to Island of Chilling Winds and Windswept Hills to Plateau of Beginnings.

Sealed Realms have been adjusted visually, so that their look now changes according to the strength of the boss inside. Two new variations have been added.

An auto-run feature has been added, so you only need to press one button to automatically run.

Wild Red Berry plants are now easier to spot, and there are more at the Sea Breeze Archipelago, Marsh Island, Eastern Wild Island, and Isle of Silence.

Missions and Story

Main Missions Rework

The story of Palworld has changed significantly. The journey you undertake while explording Palpagos, fighting tower bosses, and heading to the World Tree now feels more authentic. Goals that once felt scattered have been organized so it feels like your adventure has more purpose and makes sense.

You can now learn more about Palworld's story.

New Sub-Missions, NPCs, and Journals

Continuous, story-driven sub-missions have been added alongside new NPCs and Journals that teach more about Palworld and Palpagos.

Some missions can now display multiple display markets at once, and reward NPC missions screens will always show the correct rewards now. Having said that, main and sub-mission progress has been reset, so everyone starts on a level playing field.

Pals

New Pals

There are 72 new Pals in Palword, made up of 47 completely new ones and 25 variants. If you're missing some, head to Sunreach and the World Tree to find them.

There are 72 new Pals to discover.

Awakening

This new mechanic allows you to strengthen your Pals. In the World Tree, gather Radiant Gems and use them on Pals to unveil a hidden true power.

Mutation

Mutation is a new mechanic where breeding has a low chance of producing a Pal stronger than it would normally be. Pals born from mutated eggs have higher stats and a unique passive skill. Alongside this, you can feed Pals cakes which will affect breeding:

  • Mushroom Cake - Slightly increaases the likelihood that newly born Pals will have higher stats.
  • Vegetable Cake - Produces two Pal Eggs at once.
  • Deluxe Vegetable Cake - Increases the likelihood of mutations and makes stat growth more likely.
  • Special Cake - Increases the chance of inheriting multiple passive skills from Pal parents.

Partner Skills

Partner Skills have been reworked, and new ones have been added. Some Pals can detect nearby Pal Effigies, some can increase weapon-wielding Pals' damage, and some can reduce the damage taken when that Pal is in your party. Partner Skills do not stack, so don't think you can have a complete team of Ribbuny Pals increasing your attack by 15% each--it will cap at 15%.

Passive Skills

There are also new passive skills with new characteristics, ideal for selective breeding. World Tree passive skills have been added that are more powerful but come at a cost. For example, Twin-Edged Holy Blade increases your attack by a huge 50%, but defense decreases. Dimensional Leap improves your movement speed by 50%, but hunger depletes faster.

New Pal Motions

Pals can now swim, sleep next to you, and have more varied idle animations. Pals will now feel like they have bigger personalities.

Riding Control Improvements

Shooting, dashing, switching weapons, and charging have all been reworked alongside the camera angle. The sense of speed is improved, and riding will feel more dynamic thanks to Pal behavior being changed while ridden. You can now cancel Pal skills while riding by jumping in any direction.

Pals are now better at their jobs.

Work Suitability

There are now 10 levels of work suitability for Pals, and they've all been rebalanced. There will be more opportunities to find Pals better for the jobs you require them to do. Each time a Pal ranks up, one of its work suitability levels will also increase. Reaching the maximum rank will still increase all of the Pal's work suitability levels. The Applied Ranching Handbook will raise the work suitability level of ranching.

Capture Bonus Requirements

The number of captures required to complete a capture bonus is now five, down from 12.

Condensation Adjustment

The number of Pals required to reach the maximum rank has been reduced from 116 to 48.

Other Adjustments

If you remain idle for a while, Pals in your party will now stop and face you because they miss you (aww). Inherited active skills are now randomly selected from the three active skill slots of the parent Pals. The cost of resetting a Pal's soul enhancements has been reduced, and egg incubation time has been halved in new normal and hard difficulty worlds.

The elemental damage bonus effects of Divine Heaven, Flame Emperor, Sea Emperor, Thunder Emperor, Spirit King, Ice Emperor, Earth Emperor, King of the Underworld, and Divine Dragon have been increased.

Legend, Rare, Burly Body, and Diamond Body passive skills have been enhanced, while the Nocturnal passive skill has been renamed to Insomnia.

When you respawn, you can now choose any fast-travel location instead of being forced to return to your base or starting location.

The items that Pal Merchants and Black Marketeers carry will now closely reflect the region they appear in, and overall pricing has been adjusted to reflect Pal stats. Pals will no longer lose SAN when taking damage, and negative effects caused by hunger, fractures, and other status ailments have been reduced.

Combat

Player Motion Rework

The dodge action has been changed to make it easier to close distance when avoiding enemy attacks, or adjust your position but maintain your aim. Attacks can be performed while dashing now, and reloading will continue without being interrupted when dodging. Controls remain responsive while dodging, allowing for greater range of movement.

Combat should feel better than ever.

Pal Active Skills

The power, behavior, cooldowns, and usability of nearly all active skills have been reworked. Holy Burst, which previously dealt excessive damage, has had its hit count capped and power adjusted to 700. Pals in a party can now deal damage equal to or greater than the player. Skills that were difficult to use, like Dragon Meteor, have been improved.

There are many new active skills too, not just for new Pals but existing ones. Fuddler now has an attack that burrows underground and bursts out from beneath enemies. Starryon has a charge attack, and Broncherry Aqua has a Water element tackle attack. You can now aim at an enemy and press your mouse wheel or click the right thumbstick to command a Pal to attack.

Tower Bosses

Every tower boss has a revamped tower with unique design. Some tower bosses have new motions and skills. The time limit to take these on has been reduced from 10 to 5 minutes.

New Tower Boss designs.

Wild Pals

Wild Pals have had new behaviors added to improve combat capabilities. Dog-type Pals can bite, horse-type Pals can repeatedly charge, and fast-moving Pals can step back or reposition after attacking.

Arena Legend

You can take on fierce battles and attain a new Arena rank in Arena matches.

Minor Adjustments

Party Pals can more easily target nearby enemies, and they can move faster during combat. Armor will be less prone to breaking. Captured NPCs can use their original weapons.

Muddy and Burn status effects will have their duration shortened when dodging. You can also cancel drawing your Bow with the reload button.

You can change the type of arrows used by compatible weapons to enable the use of fire and poison arrows.

The charge time of some active skills has been extended to make them easier to dodge, while the hit detection of swords, katanas, and beam swords has also been adjusted.

Pals and NPCs will no longer target and attack enemies with a far higher level than their own. Flinch resistance, knockback resistance, and explosion resistance can be obtained through cooking.

In the crime system, you can now clear your wanted status by avoiding detection for a while, but as your wanted level increases, stronger pursuers will seek you out.

New Equipment and Items

The Wing Pack allows you to fly without a Pal's help.

Wing Pack

The Wing Pack has been added, which consumes Wing Cells to allow for free flight without relying on a Pal. This means you can soar across Palpagos to your heart's content, finally.

Plasma Multicutter

The Plasma Multicutter can gather ore and wood, and can be used while riding, making for a far more efficient method of gathering essential materials.

New Weapons

13 new weapons have been added.

  • Mechanical Bow - Crafted using Soralite Ingots, and has improved velocity and penetration perfect for long-range shots.
  • Combat SMG - Crafted using Soralite Ingots, and has an improved magazine with enhanced ammunition.
  • Prototype Shotgun - Crafted using Soralite Ingots for overwhelming firepower at close range.
  • Heavy Assault Rifle - Crafted using Soralite Ingots for versatility with powerful ammunition.
  • Tactical Grenade Launcher - Crafted using Soralite Ingots and has improved projectile stability.
  • Laser Sword - Beam sword crafted using Soralite Ingots that instantly cuts through targets.
  • Beam Scatter - Close-quarters beam weapon with a wide beam.
  • Drone Launcher - Deploys up to nine autonomous combat drones.
  • Plasma Rifle - Chains electrical arcs between enemies.

  • Primitive Sword - An early game close-quarters melee weapon.
  • Metal Bat - Mid-game melee weapon.
  • Enhanced Lily's Spear - An enhanced version of the existing weapon intended for use in the later game.

To make the most of your new finds, craft an Extra Weapon Holster to equip up to six weapons.

New Armor

The Ancient Series helm, armor, and shield is now available. You can also take on the appearance of various bosses with new headgear.

New Accessories

44 new accessories have been added, including the Air Walker which expands your freedom of movement, and the Command Baton that strengthens Pals in your party.

Disposable Implants

You can use these at the operating table. They are consumed on use, and grant more powerful passive skills.

Soralite and Paloxite

These new ores can only be mined in Sunreach and the World Tree respectively. You'll find them essential for new crafting and building purposes.

Ancient Civilization Relics

These can be converted into items and used for crafting and enhancement, but can only be found in the World Tree.

Nutrient

This consumable item will negate hunger decrease for a limited time when used on yourself or a Pal.

Minor Adjustments

Two new higher-tier Pal Spheres have been added. You can craft the Training Manual from the Ancient Pal Manuscript. The display and effects of food, implants, passive effects, and other systems have been adjusted.

Bases and Building

You can build on the coast now!

New Building Parts

There are new building parts available to spruce up your base. Why not add some Faux Greenery to create a homely, lush environment. The Aquatic Construction Kit allows you to build at sea or along the shoreline. There are also new variations added to the Wooden, Stone, Metal, Glass, Japanese-Style, and Clean furniture sets. Alongside this, ancient civilization base structures are now available.

Work Pal Improvements

Pals will now behave themselves when returning to work, hauling, or storing things at your base. Pals can collect nearby dropped items of the same type from a wider area at once. There are new storage interactions with chests, guild chests, medicine cabinets, and other containers that makes organizing more seamless.

Improved Crafting UI

Category filters and a search function make the crafting UI even more intuitive. With so many new items added, this is a vital inclusion.

New Utility Buildings

There are new structures to support crafting, including the Ancient Material Synthesizer which can produce various items, and the High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor that can extract crude oil even without an oil field.

Minor Adjustments

When within the base range, you can fast travel directly from the map. No more trekking to the nearest fast-travel point, or having to interact with the Palbox in your base.

The variety of visiting merchants has been widely increased. There are now 18 different specialized NPC merchants.

The Repair Kit that you previously needed in order to repair structures no longer exists. Instead, Pals with the Handiwork suitability can repair without needing items.

The Clinic and Ancient Clinic have been added to the base. These facilities reduce SAN depletion and suppress illness among base Pals. Alongside these, the High-Quality Monitoring Stand and Ancient Monitoring Stand function in the same way as a standard Monitoring Stand but reduce SAN depletion for base Pals. You can now set fixed assignments for sleeping Pals, too.

You can change the color of your lighting structures, and when shopping at your base, any gold stored in a chest will be taken into account. The Surgery Table can access items stored in chests, too. Chests now have an option to automatically deposit matching items without needing to open the chest, and the quick storage feature has an exclusion list so that any items you want to keep in your hand won't automatically get sorted into chests. You can also now paint your storage structures, rename chests, and more easily see the chest filter settings.

Alongside a host of smaller UI improvements, including alerts, log messages, error messages, and distances between structures, you'll now find it easier to complete tasks since Pals will prioritize finishing partially-complete tasks.

The overall ore distribution has been increased, and the amount of Pure Quartz available in snowy regions has been increased, too. Higher-tier pickaxes and axes will help to gather more resources faster.

Raids and Base Defense

There's a wider variety of base Raids.

Raid System Rework

The raid system has been overhauled into a wave-based system. Enemies will come in waves, and you'll receive rewards for defeating all waves. Base defense structures and the placement of work Pals are important now.

The types of enemies that raid will now vary depending on the environment. The Free Pal Alliance will attack in Crescent Moon Shore, while the Eternal Pyre Faction will raid in Mount Obsidian.

Defense structures will operate without consuming ammo, and there are countermeasures for situations where raiding enemies get stuck. The level of raiding enemies scales according to the level of work Pals assigned to the base. If a Gold Coin Assembly Line is present, a special raid event will happen.

The Negotiator

A negotiator may visit your base. They have the power to cancel raids if you pay them gold coins. You can choose whether to fight or resolve the situation with money.

Multiplayer

Joining up with friends is now easier.

Voice Chat

In-game voice chat now exists. It's only available when enabled in the world settings of a dedicated server. Alongside voice chat, the in-game chat is easier to use, with improved system messages and up to 200 lines of chat history.

Multiple roles have been added to guilds, and permissions can be assigned to each role. Notification settings for members logging in and out and a guild marker feature have been added.

Combat is more balanced.

Balance Overhaul

The experience table has been adjusted so that lower-level Pals can gain experience more easily. The calculation formula for Pal capture rates has been changed, making Pals easier to catch. The amount of gold coins you can find in treasure chests has been increased by around two-to-four times.

The material requirements for crafting recipes, weapons, ammo, armor, schematics, and saddles have been adjusted to match game progression more closely.

Instead of acquiring accessories physically, you can now craft them from schematics. These can be found in treasure chests, Ancient Ruins, large-scale oil rigs, and more.

Shop stock, prices, and selling prices have been adjusted. Various rewards and exploration experience have been changed. The danger level of expedition destinations that unlock after clearing each tower boss has been changed to the highest, and the rewards for doing so have been improved.

UI Improvements

Finally, you can search for Pals.

There are search functions in the Pal Box and crafting menus, as well as category sorting. You can filter the Paldeck to show Pals whose capture bonuses have not yet been completed, or find Pals with specific elements.

Improved Status Display

Pal status details now display vonus values provided by Souls and Awakening. HP bonuses can now be seen, too. You can see an icon alongside damage numbers to indicate when a status effect has been inflicted.

Icons indicating Burn, Poison, and other status ailments will show on the HP bar. Partner Skill descriptions have also been improved to make effect values easier to understand. Changes in Partner Skill effects by rank are reflected in their descriptions.
