Disney Close To Naming Next CEO, Might Be Someone Who Wants To Do More In Gaming - Report https://ift.tt/HilCgaR The Walt Disney Company could vote on its next CEO soon, and the person considered to be the top candidate for the job, Josh D'Amaro, is the person spearheading the Disney x Fortnite project and the executive who wants to do more with gaming overall going forward. The Wall Street Journal reported that current CEO Bob Iger is planning to resign prior to the end of his current contract on December 31 this year. A meeting will take place this week at the company's headquarters in Burbank, California to vote on his replacement, the report added. The WSJ report added that Iger would stay on for "several months" to help mentor the incoming CEO, while it's possible Iger could remain a board member after he steps away as CEO. The epic sci-fi combat of the Halo video game series is getting adapted to official tabletop form with the upcoming Halo: Flashpoint. The skirmish game sees players assemble teams of Halo Spartans or Banished Elites and send them into tactical turn-based battles. Those who have played similar wargames like Warhammer 40,000--especially the smaller-scale Killteam format--will find Halo: Flashpoint's premise and gameplay familiar, but the game's creator, Mantic Entertainment, says it'll be easy to learn for newcomers to the genre.

If you want to get started with the new tabletop wargame, you can preorder the Halo: Flashpoint Spartan Edition box that includes enough minis and terrain for two players to engage in epic Spartan versus Banished skirmishes, plus all the necessary rulebooks, playing cards, and other gameplay pieces to learn to play the game. You can preorder Halo: Flashpoint Spartan Edition for $125 at Amazon ahead of its October 25 release.
